Looking for honest input on bumper repair shops
I scraped my rear bumper in a parking garage last week and now I need to sort it out. Nothing dramatic, just a crack and some deep scuffs. How do you usually check whether a body shop is worth trusting before you hand over the keys and pay?

From what I have seen, the main thing is how clearly a shop explains the process before any work starts. A bumper is not only cosmetic, it is built to absorb impact and shield the parts behind it, so a sloppy fix can matter more than people assume. I would ask whether they intend to repair or fully replace, and why. Color matching is another point worth checking, because a slightly off panel is obvious in daylight. When I was comparing places I looked at Pro Collision among a few others, mostly because the scope of work was spelled out rather than left vague. Also worth confirming what parts they use, OEM or insurance approved, and whether the estimate covers paint. Vague answers on any of that would make me keep looking. Take your time, compare a couple of quotes, and treat anything unusually cheap with caution.
