CHICAGO, IL — Congressman Danny K. Davis (IL-07) will launch a national petition campaign titled “Hands Off Social Security and Medicaid” on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Central Time. The event will take place at a location to be announced and will bring together advocates, residents, and community leaders committed to protecting two of America’s most vital programs.
The campaign responds to proposals by former President Donald Trump and Republican leaders to raise the retirement age, cut monthly benefits, and privatize Medicare and Medicaid. This grassroots movement will rally support nationwide to demand Congress protect what Americans have earned.
“Social Security and Medicaid are lifelines — not handouts,” said Congressman Danny K. Davis. “They represent a promise to our seniors, families, and people with disabilities. We must fight to keep that promise.”
