Israel and Hamas

My heart aches for the State of Israel and especially for the families and friends of those whose lives have been cut short, taken, snuffed out, and decapitated by terrorists with no compassion or any sense of justice.  Israel and Hamas are engulfed in a fierce state of war where predictions are that thousands and thousands of civilian Palestinians, including innocent children, will have their lives taken, they will be maimed, scared, and uprooted with little or no hope for future stability.

I continue to ask myself what else can I do that might have some positive impact?  I support Israel’s right to defend itself and to seek a safe and secure environment in which to live and work.  As I thought, it occurred to me that maybe I can do more!  I can plead with the leadership and decision-makers on both sides to come and reason together to exchange mercy for mercy.  Hamas, let the Israeli hostages return to their families, to freedom.  Israel, let the people in Gaza have access to water, energy, food, medical supplies, and medical personnel so they might have a chance to survive.  I don’t profess to have all the answers to this dilemma; but I do know what I believe, what I hope for, what I advocate for, what I support, what I fight for, and what I work to achieve.  I believe that where there is a will, there is a way, and when people and nations have the will, they will find the way.  I trust that way will be towards peace and tranquility, not war, destruction, and devastation.
